Hard to believe it's April already, nevermind the fact that April is almost over! It's been a busy quarter down here in Prince Edward County. Here's a copy of our newest site plan, which is out of date already!!

One of my favorite Prince Edward County annual events is coming up! When March finally rolls around after the winter months, you know it's almost time for Maple In The County!

2012 at Sandbank Homes has started off strong. We are getting close to completing our current phase of development, only 15 lots remain and this number is shrinking every day. Of these 15 lots, only a few golf course lots remain.

For the vast majority of Canadians, homeownership is an important goal—something they dream about, plan for and enjoy achieving.

For those of you that know me, you know I grew up in Belleville as a tech geek, and wanted nothing more than to hit the big city and chase my high tech dreams. I followed those dreams, went to Toronto and landed an I.T. position with one of the largest tech companies going. After accomplishing this, I realized that wasn't what I wanted at all.

As we venture our way into 2012, we're excited as we move forward and bring a few new things to the table for the year. As a custom home builder, we are constantly looking at buying trends of our clients, and what changes to our base home plans seem to be the most popular. From all of this data, we adapt and make changes to our home designs, to help keep the overall costs down for our buyers.

Some prefer after having such a long life of working and rushing through traffic, trying to keep up with the rat race of life, that they steer towards that peaceful country living or at least to retire in a community with less traffic and more time to relax.

If you've been following "the County" at all recently, I'm sure somewhere you may have heard the term "wind farm" or "wind turbines" used in conjunction with "The County". I've even been asked "how close are you to the proposed wind farm project?"

This post will definitely stand out from the others. As a "techie" the uproar of this latest protest has caught my interest. Especially with the threat of so many websites taking part in the protest with a potential of blacking themselves out from the internet!

Whether it's time to look for a bigger home as your family grows, or look for a smaller home, as your kids go off to college, you will always be faced with the question of buying a new home versus a resale.
